Dr Stuart Wood, Director of Meet The Beasts has extensive science, business, research & training experience. He understands the pressures of today & believes that self-confidence is key to personal development, success & fulfilment. He is also patient & understanding; key qualities when people encounter our animals for the first time.

Our greatest reward is seeing so many people of all ages in our sessions change from white knuckle fear to confidently handling large snakes.

We love hearing "I could never do that!" change to "I never thought I could do that!"

ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY: NHS & PRIVATE

[Reptile handling: build confidence, self-esteem & improve personal health & mental health]The benefits of handling reptiles go well beyond self-confidence.

Reports show that snake handling helps to increase communication in Mental Health, especially in patients with depression.

We have seen many patients/service users overcome fears, one-to-one & also in group settings, where they have been encouraged, even cheered by fellow service users.

Our animals are available to help with any therapy session aimed at rebuilding confidence, self-esteem & motivation. We visit hospitals & other Mental Health settings with our animals to provide activities aimed at promoting social interaction & developing self-confidence & personal awareness.

We work with practitioners in the NHS & private practice.  Find out more ...
